- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup dutch unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large bananas mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (200°C). Prepare a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper or butter.
-
In a small bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Set aside
-
In a large bowl, mix the egg and sugar until smooth. Add the melted butter and vanilla and mix.
-
Mix in half of the dry ingredients until just combined, then mix in the mashed bananas.
-
Then, mix in the remaining half of the dry ingredients until just combined. Mix in the milk until smooth.
-
Finally, fold in ¾ of the chocolate chips.
-
Pour the batter into your lined loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of the chocolate chips on top of the batter.
-
Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out semi clean (sometimes the melted chocolate chips can look like raw batter which looks thicker on the toothpick so keep an eye out for that distinction!)
-
Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
